This day in Indianapolis hockey history: May 11

 On May 11, the 2000 Ice force a seventh game in Columbus in the Miron Cup Final, and the 1990 Ice take a 2-0 lead in the Turner Cup Final on Brian Noonan's late PPG. Also, birthday celebrations for USHL Ice Locke Jillson, Rinat Valiev and Brian Pinho.

2000: The Ice steamroll Columbus 5-2 on the road to even up the Miron Cup Finals at 3-3. Chris MacKenzie's game-winner stands up thanks to Jamie Morris' goaltending.
1990: The Ice take a 2-0 lead in the IHL Turner Cup Final, scoring three times in the third period to beat Muskegon 4-2. Brian Noonan's power play goal with 4:39 left in the second ties the game at 2-2. Mike Stapleton and Warren Rychel score PPGs in the third to break the tie, and Jari Torkki adds an empty-netter. Stapleton and Noonan each tally a goal and an assist, while Bruce Cassidy assists on two goals. Jim Waite makes 20 saves in net. The Ice power play is again effective, going 3-11. 

Happy birthday to ... 
Locke Jillson: Forward who played 16 games for the Ice in 2007-08, with two assists, after being dealt from Des Moines. He went from there to a four-year career at Cornell, where he had 45 career points. Since graduating in 2012, he has played 11 minor pro games with CHL Fort Worth and SPHL Peoria over the last two seasons. A native of Dallas, Texas, he is 26.
Rinat Valiev: Defenseman who played 36 games for the Ice in 2012-13, tallying 13 points in 36 games. He moved to the Western Hockey League's Kootenay Ice this past season, and amassed 28 points and a +27 rating in 55 games. He is rated among the top 150 North American skaters by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau for the upcoming draft. A native of Nizhnekamsk, Russia, he is 19.
Brian Pinho: Ice center who has tallied 28 goals and 28 assists in 59 games during his first season with the Ice. He was a sixth-round pick of the Washington Capitals in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. A native of North Andover, Mass., he is 19.
